Easy Christmas Crafts for Kids
Oh by gosh by golly, it’s time for mistletoe and hol…iday crafts! Sitting around the table together making fun ornaments or cutting snowflakes out of white printer paper can be such a fun holiday tradition. Whether you’re a little kid or a big kid, everyone can join in and create fun things together. Sometimes crafts can be messy with lots of glue and paint, and other times they can be simple and require minimal steps — which more often than not, is appreciated by mommies and daddies.

These recipes are so special to me because they come from my family and are special memories of eating around the table together. As an adult and learning that I had some food intolerances, I still wanted to enjoy those foods so badly but it wasn’t the same, so I decided to get creative in the kitchen. My goal was to eat what everyone else was eating except make it gluten-free and healthier whenever possible. Mission accomplished. In fact, making these recipes for family gatherings, pretty much everyone enjoyed my recipes as much as the traditional ones. Most importantly, getting my grandma’s approval of her recipes that I recreated meant the world to me — and now that she’s passed, making these recipes is like having her part of our holiday celebrations.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Candy Cane
Ingredients
- candy canes
- glue
- mini googly eyes
- small red pom poms
- brown pipe cleaners
Instructions
- You can either hold the candy cane or place in a tall glass while you assemble him. Glue mini googly eyes on the candy cane along with a small red pom pom for a nose. Hold each of them in place for about 20 to 30 seconds while the glue dries.
- Take a brown pipe cleaner and create antlers by wrapping each end around your finger or a pencil to give it a twisty look. Wrap the entire pipe cleaner around the top of the candy cane to hold it in place.
Peanut Butter Cup Christmas Tree
Ingredients
- construction paper (white, green, red, gold, silver, blue)
- toothpicks
- tape
- peanut butter cups (individually wrapped)
Instructions
- Trace a cookie cutter or a triangle on colored construction paper and cut it out. Make as many as you need. Poke the toothpick into each peanut butter cup. Tape the construction paper to the toothpick so it stands upright.
