7 YouTube Shows Your Preschooler Will Love

Okay, it’s just us — you don’t have to pretend like your preschooler only goes to forest Waldorf school and plays with STEM toys. YouTube is a choice that some parents make and other parents don’t, and we’re cool with that, but it doesn’t have to be all Surprise Eggs and slime tutorials (because whose idea was THAT to teach to a preschooler?). These shows are entertaining, low-caffeine, and 100% non-sketchy, so you can feel good about doing some yoga on the other side of the couch while your preschooler watches them.

Blippi

Ask any kid or parent, and they’ll tell you — Blippi is the best thing to happen to YouTube in a LONG time. His videos are educational, interesting, and entirely too sweet. This self-made sensation does videos on everything from construction equipment to touring amusement parks.

Car City

If your preschooler is hitting the cars phase hard, Car City is a great animated cartoon to get them hooked on. The characters don’t actually talk, which can be a little weird, but all of the themes and interactions are gentle, mild, and mesmerizing.

Family Fun Pack

Hey, some kids just like checking out what other kids are doing. This family of eight is always out doing fun things, but even their day-to-day life with so many littles to keep track of is pretty entertaining. Your kid will love seeing the places they go, and you’ll love watching the parents make it look so freakishly easy.

TwentyTrucks

For machine-obsessed kids, not much beats this original song series by TwentyTrucks (unless we’re counting Mighty Machines). Warning though: they’re insanely catch — you WILL go to the gym singing about logging trucks.

Rachel and the Treeschoolers

Rachel’s videos are fun, colorful, and engaging, but more than anything, SUPER educational. Rachel incorporates sign language into many of her videos along with original songs and preschool-level lessons on fun topics like dinosaurs and the solar system.

Signing Time!

If you’re wanting to dig a little deeper into sign language with your preschooler, Signing Time! is a great way to do it. This channel is full of lessons from Rachel and the Treeschoolers with a specific focus on kid-friendly sign language lessons.

Cosmic Kids Yoga

Mindfulness isn’t the easiest thing to teach to little busybodies, but Cosmic Kids Yoga does a pretty great job. Most of the videos are around 10-15 minutes each, so they’re easy enough for the easily distracted to get through in the morning. Set up with colorful characters, it’s a great way to get kids started in peaceful stretching exercises!
