5 Tips To Have The Best Time At Disneyland With Your Family
Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth, but it can be stressful as a first-time mom or going for the first time with young kids if you’re not prepared. There’s a lot to consider – What can we ride? What about changing diapers? Where can I warm up a bottle? Is my stroller REALLY safe at the unattended stroller parking?
I’ve been going to Disneyland since I was six weeks old, so I know the park very well and can navigate it with my eyes closed. Going to the parks now as a mom with a young baby is a different experience but just as fun. Here are some tips to help make your visit stress free!
Tip One: Get A Disney Balloon
Put a balloon, funky-colored scarf, or something unique on your stroller to easily identify it amongst the other strollers at stroller parking. If you plan to visit the parks for a few days, splurge on a Disney balloon so you can look to the sky to spot your stroller. They can last 3-6 weeks, so they will for sure last for your entire Disney vacay! Add a scarf, battery-operated lights, or garland (during the holidays) around your stroller to jazz it up — you won’t be able NOT to see it!
Tip Two: Locate Your Stroller
Consider getting a small tracking device that syncs to your phone (like an AirTag) that you put in your stroller, so you always know where it is. Often, cast members will move strollers to reorganize them and line them more effectively, which means your stroller may be in a different spot than you left it. Don’t panic! Look for your balloon, scarf, or the thing that helps you identify your stroller, and/OR use an AirTag to be able to locate it. This can also help in the small chance someone accidentally takes your stroller.
Tip Three: Disney Baby Center
Utilize the Baby Center on Main Street U.S.A. (there is one in each Disney Park) for changing diapers, nursing, warming bottles, and feeding — they have high chairs! We’ve been taking our son to the parks since he was six weeks old, and we frequent the Baby Center. They even have a small potty area for kids needing a smaller toilet. Immediately after a parade or the fireworks, it tends to be the most crowded.
Tip Four: Bring Snacks!
No matter how young or old your kiddos are, bringing your own snacks (and water) can save you lots of money and time throughout your day. Just don’t bring glass (unless it’s for baby food or formula).
Tip Five: Double-Check Your Rides
To know which rides you can safely take your kids on, check with City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. to find a list of height requirements for each ride. Double-check to see which rides will allow you to hold your baby on your lap or place them in a baby wrap/carrier.
At the end of the day, going to Disneyland with your kids is so much fun. It’s amazing to experience the magic through their little eyes.
